Its the simple things, like a phone call from a friend who has just the right things to say. Its that extra kiss and cuddle from your child. Its an online chat when your spouse is far away. Its that whisper from Heaven, a message from your mother.
Found a delightful store yesterday in Breckenridge, CO called Magical Scraps.
I bought this delightful belt/wrap. Its kind of like what you wear with a kimono. A bit pricey, but completely hand sewn in her studio in the store. I highly recommend this fun, quirky little store.

We got a sitter and went to Breck and played tourist all day.
We found some great finds at the Swapmeet including a 2010 French Olympic team jacket. YEA!!!
We enjoyed some goodies at starbucks and then just walked around town, going to stores we never frequent. We walked around the Maggie Pond area, which we didn't even know was there. Then we had lunch at Kenosha steak house.
Finally after more fun shopping and wandering around (and buying t-shirts for the kids) we came home slightly sunburned and really tired.
I love that my kids LOVE to explore. They love nature and love learning about animals. I'm very proud of the fact that my children dont' need to use an ipod or iphone or any other type of elctronic adult device to entertain themselves. I actually had someone once make fun of my kids because they PLAY WITH TOYS instead of always watching videos or playing games on my phone. Lame.
This week, we were lucky enough to be invited to the 4th Wax Museum of Heroes. Dallin was Thomas Edison. He did all the research and wrote his speech and paper all by himself.
Tanith spend two full hours this morning doing school work on my lap top. Afterwards she was famished and enjoyed some snacks. What a smart cookie she is!
I feel so much guilt going on with life without my mom around. I don't know, maybe guilt isn't the right word. I miss her a lot. I'm really happy she isn't sick anymore and isn't suffering. Her allergies were a constant problem- causing her to cough a lot. I'm so glad she isn't coughing anymore. But I wish I could call her up while I do the dishes or clean the house. Or drive to the rink. I know I can still talk to her, and I sort of do. But I also am tired of crying and talking to her or my heavenly father just makes me cry, so I'm kind of living in Denial.
While we were in Seattle, my dad and I took the kids to the Cougar Mountain Zoo near Issaquah. Its just a tiny little zoo, but we still had a great time!
The zoo has a lot of bronze statues and the staff isn't that concerned if you climb on them, so of course, my little climbers were all over them! As you can see, Brennan was particulary cheeky with his statue interactions. :) Love that kid!
