Wednesday December 3rd... what happened to Tuesday?
Dallin and I left SLC at 8:59pm on Monday. We met up with some of our tour group members at the gate. Everyone was very nice and we all started getting excited. We saw a lot of missionaries leaving at the same time, although non on our flight. It was fun though to see so many missionaries.
We got to LA and walked outside to Tom Bradley--the international terminal. Everything went smoothly and we were able to get out to our gate and get on our flight. It wasn't a very full flight, so Dallin and I were the only ones on our row. We slept good! It was really nice having Dallin on the flight with me. We read, drew pictures and played. The airline treated him nice by giving him lots of cardboard type models to build--one was from CARS, one was Wall-E and one was an airplane. They took quite a long time to build but provided hours of enjoyment for my sweet Dallin.
We landed in South Korea on Wednesday--what happened to Tuesday? It seriously disapered and we will never get it back...too bad it was Susan's birthday and she didn't get to celebrate-- and I was finally able to get in touch with Rick. It was really nice to be able to talk with him, brennan and Tanith. I was amazed by this airport--there was a bunch of highend stores--Chanel, Gucci, Burburry, Dior...you name it, it was there! I must say, I felt totally out of place looking around in those shops.
Dallin was such a good traveler. He was very anxious and just wanted to hurry up and get to China.
Our flight to China was on a 747 400, but it was 3/4 empty!!! Dallin and I were the only ones in the far back (like the last 6 rows). It was crazy. I was able to sleep a bit on this fight while Dallin watched a show.
Landing in China...to see the excitement on his face was priceless.
The new terminal was so nice and fancy. They totally stepped it up for the Olympics. Last year, the airport wasn't nearly as nice.
In customes, a dog came and sniffed my bags and I had to give up my oranges and apples. boo! Last year some tour members brought fruit, so I just assumed I'd be able to. Oh well...
Our tour guide, David, took us to lunch. It was the same location that we went to last year, which was fun. After lunch, we went to the BIRD'S NEST! OH MY GOSH! Olympic fever!
It was so exciting to see it upclose. We had to pay around $7 to go in, but it was worth it. So cool. We even got to go down to the field.
We quickly found that Chinese woman and teens LOVE Dallin. He was stopped so many times for a photo shoot. A few people just took his picture, but most people wanted to pose with him. One girl even gave him a kiss on the cheek! His response--"I want to do the chicken peck on them!"--its a kung fu move Rick taught him. LOL
Next we went to the Water Cube...talk about a cool place. I wish they could have shown it more on TV...the entry hall is fabulous...even the bathrooms are cool. The whole place is just so cool!
Now we are back at our hotel...we are both so tired, but its only 6:30, so we are gonna try to hold off until 7 or so, and then go to bed. Hopefully we can sleep good tonight and we won't end up waking at 2am or something.
** I'm posting this from Beijing, notice the flag on the side? I will post pictures when I get back to Utah. :)

I'm glad your flight went well! So fun to read about everything (though I did it backwards). I wish I was shopping and touring with you....it's crazy! It's amazing how much you can fall in love with such a different culture. Mmmm...I hope you guys have a BLAST! Though I HATE the cold (it's cold here today!).
Love ya!
