Super Angie...working on things is hard
I really like it how my skating coach doesn't give me a way out of things. In the past, I've been able to say, "yeah, I don't really like that jump or spin" and the coach is like "okay" and I never have to do it. But with Vassili, its not an option, so I don't even try the excuse. Its good to realize that I CAN DO these things...its just gonna take hard work and practice.
Things I'm working on:
Axel (its not scary this time and its actually something I look forward to. I think my mind set has changed. I don't have a deadline for doing the jump. I know with patience, hard work and the direction of my coach, I will get my axel back...patience and it will come!)
Lutz (with the correct entrance)
Back Spin (this is one of those things where in the past I've said, "Yeah, I suck at these" and the coach was like "okay". But Vassili has actually complimented my back spin and has never really said anything negative about it--so maybe I've been wrong...maybe I don't suck...)
Sit change Sit-- I realized this weekend that I never really learned this correctly 10 yrs ago, and it feels so much better, and makes so much more sense now that Vassili has "taught" it to me.
Camel spin (and combination spins)
Loop--getting more control so I can just do a bunch of them in a row
Footwork--again, something my coach believes I can do, that I never thought I could...but now I KNOW I can!
Posture...this is always on my mind, and I know I have improved, but there is a long ways to go with correct lines, finger positions and back and shoulders. But I'm working on it.
