I asked the kids to find a movie to watch tonight. Tanith found this one. Dallin got excited and said this was one of his favorite movies when he was little. Its such a joy to watch all three of them enjoying this movie about a dog and a cat. My kids simply love animals and nature.

Super Angie... Keystone Stables
Yesterday we allowed Brennan and Tan to ride their bike down to the stables. I was nervous but hoping for the best. then my dad and I drove down to follow them and I enjoyed watching them feed the horses. Those ponies and horses were so friendly and so happy to be having so much attention. I just wish I wasn't allergic.
The kids fed them granola bars and carrots
Super Angie...Vail Invitational
Last Friday I have the opportunity to compete at the Vail Invitational. I was very excited about this competition because I had a new friend Amy who I would be competing with there and also some of my favorite senior skaters we're going to be competing. So cool! I decided I wanted to compete my Elvis program. I only found out I was doing this competition a week before so I worked hard for that week and trained my Elvis program. Todd couldn't come to the competition because he had a full day
in Colorado Springs coaching so his sister, Alexe, came. This was so fun for me because I am a big fan of his sister. And she was actually going to be competing that night so is really cool. my dad was in town but Rick was gone, so my dad came and brought the kids. so did Sarah Cook from church. it was so fun having so many people in the audience and they threw a lot of tossies.
I skated pretty good. my main goal for this competition was to actually do my camel spin. I didn't do it the best ive done it but I did it! I did two revolutions. All of my jobs for solid except that I did kinda rush the landings but overall I'm very pleased with the way I skated and I walked away with the silver medal. so exciting.
But the big news of the event happened during the warm up. I was doing back crossovers and one of my competitors Jose was also doing back cross overs and we collided. I was going full speed and I hit him hard. we both fell over. we laughed hug to make sure everybody was feeling okay. the other competitors came over and helped us up. and everything seemed OK except that I almost immediately had a bad headache. I finished my warm up and then got off the ice. I still have that headache but I wouldn't competed about 2 hours later I realized I was feeling kind of loopy and unfocused so I called Dr John my faithful chiropractor in Breckenridge. he had me come in and he told me that I had a minor concussion. So now I am recovering.

Super Angie...holiday time
Our day started with Rick running the 10K trail race in Breck. While he ran, the kids and I walked down to mainstreet and I got them some drinks and pastries at the Coffee Depot. Love that small place. The kids placed at the Breck Elementary play ground and then we stood at the finish line, cheering for Dad! He did really awesome- finishing in 1 hour 9 minutes which is faster then two years ago. Way to GO!!
After that we headed up, decorated our bikes and headed to River Run in Keystone for the kid parade. As always, we had fun. The kids are old enough now that they can just take off and navigate the course alone. Rick and I just sat in the big wooden rockers, smiling and waving to the kids and yelling FFKR or GARMIN for our two boys. Dallin and Brennan got a lot of attention for being in their race gear. :)
Afterwards, the boys rode their bikes home, and we took Tanith's bike on our car bike rack.
Next came a few hours of laying out at the pool. Splashing, hot tub time, floating, laying out. We just enjoyed being together and doing nothing!!
The sun and the early morning made me sooo tired.
Next came a BBQ at Keystone lake. We walked over there, and enjoyed a great BBQ. There was also a live band that I really loved. early 90s type of dance music. So fun! :) The kids played in the sand at the beach for about an hour, until the clouds started getting dark and we knew we should head home. We got home in time to watch the storm off the deck. RAIN!
Again, sooo tired. How was I going to stay up till 9 for the fireworks? I took a short nap.
We decided we were all too tired to walk back to the lake for fireworks, so we drove and parked on the side of the road. Great view actually. We loved the colors and how long the fire work show lasted.
I loved spending the whole day with my kids and husband. I love America and I love my family!
