Super Angie... USFS Pacific Coast Sectionals- Day 1

On Thursday, I took Brennan out of school to attend Sectionals in Salt Lake. Its not often that a big skating comp comes to town and it was so cheap to go watch. Brennan packed his backpack full of snacks and his DS, which he played during Zamboni time and during some of the upper level skaters. He really loved watching the young pairs and ice dance teams. It was fun to have a Mommy/ Brennan day!

Remington Burghart-- we had fun watching Remington because he trains at our rink.

Jr. Pairs was a lot of fun to watch.

Split double twist!
Anthony Ponomarenko and his partner. Can't believe he is only 10 and in Intermediate Dance!
Elizabeth and Johnathan. Brennan really liked these two, and after they were awarded their gold medal, he bought them some flowers. They were both very very nice and so were their moms and coach.
Anthony and his partner.
Brennan with some more pair teams. The girls were sooo cute with him. And the boys kept saying "Do pairs, not dance!" lol
He really enjoyed the comp!
Brennan with one of the Sr. Men competitors.
I think these were Novice pairs. Nice lift!
Brennan and I with the famous Todd Sand. L
Another young Pairs team
Brennan with Johnathan and Elizabeth
We had so much fun together!
Brennan with a young team from Seattle
Festive balloons!
Emily Samuelson and Todd Gilles when I picked them up at the airport. Talk about two very nice people. I had an enjoyable time chatting with them.
Elizabeth and Johnathen from California. So much fun watching these two.\
I'm so glad I took Brennan out of school to go to the comp. It was a fun Mom and Son day. We started by going to Starbucks and sharing a snack. I tried to introduce him to as many skaters as we could. He really liked the young dance and pairs teams. Over all, it was a great great day!

Super Angie... Dallin's creation

Dallin is such a little artist. He loves creating things--either on paper, out of boxes, or this pikachu out of clay. I love having this kid around. Always so creative!

Super Angie... Christmas trees

We spent Thanksgiving morning putting up our Christmas trees. Last year at Target, I found the white and pink ones. This totally went against all things Angie, but I bought them and have grown quite fond of having non-traditional trees. The kids LOVE them. Tanith decorated the pink one and Brennan did the white one. We bought a few new ornaments at Target on Wednesday and then let the kids just pick out whatever they liked. Some are handmade-- like a heart or star paper that the kids painted last year. Others are traditional bulbs. Last year at Jenni's Christmas cookie day, Tanith made a picture frame ornament. Its really fun having a tree in Utah and these three smaller trees out in Keystone. Each tree is very "home made" and personal--not a designer tree at all, and I'm quite happy about that. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my friends who have beautiful, magazine perfect trees, but I grew up having very personal tree- with home made memories, so I enjoy that same type of tree.

Yea for Christmas trees!

Super Angie...Lake Dillon ice

After Thanksgiving dinner, we walked to Keystone lake to feed the ducks, but there weren't any. Rick remembered seeing some at Dillon lake, so we walked back home, jumped in the car and drove to the lake. We did find some geese but they were out swimming and no where near shore. We did find something better though...ice. Lake Dillon freezes completely in the winter, but it hasn't been cold enough, so only a part of it is frozen. This didn't stop the kids from have a blast. They are such natural little skaters. Fun times!

Super Angie...thanksgiving day hike

We took a family walk/hike this morning to go to Lucy's grave, take some family pictures and over all, enjoy being together. The weather was perfect and the temps were pleasant. We ate some snow (it was white, not brown or yellow!), walked on dead trees and threw a few snowballs.

Super Angie...Can you Help?

Its official! I'm am skating in SKATE FOR HOPE again this summer. June 2012. My goal is to raise $1500. Can you help? Even a $5 donation goes a long ways in helping to fund Breast Cancer research. http://www.skateforhope.org/site/TR/Events/General?px=1029548&pg=personal&fr_id=1070

Super Angie...I Passed!

Today, I took my United States Figure Skating test for Adult Bronze level. Moves in the Field and Freeskate. I was wicked nervous, and then suddenly, very calm. I actually enjoyed testing. The judges were really warm and friendly. The arena was silent and very serene. I am so proud of myself. Here is my freeskate (we didn't film the MIF).

Super Angie...camping trip

Rick helped the kids set up the tent and they camped out in our living room. So much fun. They used glow sticks from pop, slept in sleeping bags, and stayed up way too later laughing, wrestling and playing games.

Super Angie... Halloween 2011 Ward Party

I kind of tricked Rick into going to the ward Halloween party and guess what...we won the BEST COUPLE award. Oscar the Grouch and Cookie Monster. bawahaha. So funny!!!

The kids had a great time. Tanith was a Cheetah...of course! And Dallin and Brennan were knights.
