Super Angie...gifts?

Now that Christmas is over, I want to hear from you guys--what were some of your favorite gifts this year?

For me: Gucci watch, Juicy purse (Whit, YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!), Marmot coat and hoodie, figure skating tights, peppermint chapstick.
For Rick: (I am guessing)--Monte Bell coat, "Life is Crap" t-shirt, new carbiners from my parents.
For Dallin: BEN 10!!! He loves it all!
For Brennan: The tractor "gaga and pop" gave him.
For Tanith: The xylophone from "gaga and pop"

So, what about you?

--Super Angie..
PS...I LOVED giving gifts this year. One thing I have realized is, its easy to just go and buy someone a candle or bath salts and say, "Merry Christmas", but if you get creative and take your time, you can get an original gift for the same price that really shows you care.
I had a blast putting together Whit's gifts, Rick's stocking (hey Whit, the coat fit perfectly in the bottom of the stocking!!), the Gucci purses for my sister-in-laws, and the Chinese bag stuffed to the gills for my parents. Another creative gift was using Chinese Take Out containers and putting a gift in those--they just look cute. I also found some great jewlery for friends at the gym--tip: check the clearance section or sale sections of websites. I found earrings for $2.99!!

It was great seeing everyone's reactions! :)

Super Angie...3rd post today

I am blog crazy today! LOL

I just got home from ice skating, outside in MINUS 1 Degree weather at 7pm!

Things I learned: Make sure your water bottle is filled with hot water. It doesn't freeze (like it did yesterday!) and it feels so good to have something warm.

Figure out some way to keep your nose warm. My nose tonight was soooo cold. I tried wrapping my scarf around my face, but when I breathed, it would just fog up my glasses, making it hard to see the little punk hockey players zooming towards me. lol

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory closes at 9pm, but I was too frozen to go in and buy some goodies. Tomorrow though. :)

It sure was fun to skate under a starry sky, even if it was - 1 degrees.

Super Angie... great finds!

Lots of Great Finds today (and last night)..

Our babysitter turned out to be awesome. She is 13 going on 30...so mature. The kids had fun playing games, coloring and reading with her. Totally a great find in getting her as a sitter.

Having a few hours out with my sweetie was totally a great find!

Rick and I went to an oustanding consignment store in Dillon. I found, not one, but TWO pairs of boots for climbing Mt. Rainer in MY SIZE!!! These are heavy duty Koflach brand and are usually $200- $400. These are used, but still in fantastic condition and only $75!!! One pair was white and pink, and one was purple and orange. I choose the purple pair because they fit slightly better. What a great find! (btw, I plan on climbing Mt. Rainer in July...the training begins once we get back to Utah!)

Silverthorne has some fantastic factory outlet stores--Ann Klein, Ann Taylor, Calvin Klein, Coach purses (no good finds in there! Everything costs the same as at Nordstroms!)... We went to Banana Republic and found some great finds there. GREAT NEWS... I fit a size 8 trouser pant at B.R. OH MY GOSH! I seriously think I was in Jr. High last time I was a size 8. YEA! Rick got a classy sweater to wear to Church--so cute!

We went to City Market to buy some groceries and found Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark ON SALE!!! Great Find in deed!

And finally, last night we had to missionaries over for dinner. Four of them came, which was really fun (although we don't have enough chairs for that many people). One of them happens to live in Utah. In Eagle Mountain. In The Ranches. In Highland. In my brother's ward!!! Turns out his younger brother Diego is friends with my nephew Tyler. SO AWESOME! Such a great find!

What types of good finds have you found lately?

Super Angie...minus 10 degrees

This morning at 8am, when we got up, it was only -10degrees!! Now, at 10:15, its 8.2 degrees. Brrrrrr.

We have a babysitter coming in a bit (a girl from the ward here). Originally our plan was to go skiing together, but with the extremely cold temps, we have decided instead to go to lunch and look around the outlet mall and in stores we can't take the kids. No point getting frostbite just to take a few runs.

Should be fun.

Brrrrr.

Super Angie...coffee drinker?

This morning, while buying Taco Makings for our dinner tonight with the MISSIONARIES, I decided to visit the Starbucks kiosk at City Market in Dillon. I picked up a super cute tumbler/mug, and went to the counter to order and buy my mug.

"A tall, Zebra Peppermint Hotchocolate, extra hot, please"

(Zebra is half white chocolate and half dark chocolate)

Some how, I wound up with a tall Peppermint Mocha. I took a drink as I was walking away.

Hmmm...
I took a second drink...
crap!

"Um, is this a peppermint Hot Chocolate?" I asked the barista.
"No. you wanted a mocha. I heard you say Mocha"
First...that is such bad customer service! The customer is ALWAYS right. Shame on them!

"Um, no, I don't drink coffee, so I would not have used the word Mocha" I said, as I handed my cup back to them.

Dumbfounded, then made me the correct drink and actually apologized--amazing.

Anyway, am I going straight to Hell now for drinking coffee?

Super Angie...a visit to Denver

Today, since it was only going to be 5 degrees, we headed down to Denver where it was warmer--25 degrees! HEAT WAVE! :)

We went to the aquarium, which honestly is the best one I have been to. They take water very serious there, meaning, they show lots of habits that need, use, or are surrounded by water. So, they have fish and the normal aquarium stuff, but then they also have the natural habit of a desert and show how water effects is (flash flood included where everyone gets wet!). Another favorite habitat was the jungle habitat complete with a real tiger. Today he was just sunning himself, but we saw footage of when he jumped in the pool with the fish and plays.

On the way home, the kids and I all took a nap. I woke up half way home, but the kids slept until we got off the freeway. Brennan was so funny while napping...he was eating a sucker before he fell asleep, and apparently this was still on his mind while napping because his mouth was open, tongue hanging out, which made it real convenient when he lifted the sucker up to his lips and took a lick--all while sleeping soundly! SO FUNNY!

Super Angie...Have a very GUCCI Christmas

Holy Smokes! Santa was very VERY nice to me. I got a REAL Gucci watch in my stocking (along with some makeup, socks and some candy that was sitting on the kitchen counter! LOL). I am so excited about this real Gucci, because as many people know, I have TONS of knock off purses, jeans, coats and watches. A long time ago--probably when I was 12 or so, my dad went to Asia and brought me back the prettiest FAKE Gucci watch--it was black with a small "diamond" on it. It went through the wash and of course, didn't survive.

Well, now I have a new Gucci watch.

Merry Christmas Everyone. A long time a go, some wise men came, bearing gifts. A new star shown in the sky. A babe lay in a manger. How wonderful it is to have a Savior, who loves us all. Merry Christmas!

Super Angie...toe-pick!

Tonight I went figure skating on Keystone Lake at Keystone Village. I have only skated outside a few times and have never skated on a lake. This lake is maintained by a zamboni, so much off the ice was actually very smooth and felt like any indoor rink. There was a fresh dusting of snow on the ice, which was fun to skate through--my blades didn't even get wet, which was a new experience for me.

I was able to land all my single jumps (waltz-lutz--I don't do axels) and do scratch, sit and camel spins. I actually did 3 revolutions on my camel, which is quite amazing considering I haven't skated in 6 months and have never skated at 9,000 plus feet! I also got quite a bit of on lookers watching me when I hydrobladed.

The sky was beautiful with a bright full moon. There is a giant Christmas tree in the middle of the ice and many Christmas lights on surrounding buildings.

I plan on skating every day from now on. So much fun! Rick took this photo to inspire me to go skating tonight. Thanks Hon!

Super Angie...6 degrees

We are in Keystone, enjoying the holidays together as a family and with our friends, Tiff and Tyler. Its currently 6 degrees outside and I am loving it.

Yesterday, Rick and I FINALLY got a chance to ski together. We last skiied together in 2005-2006 season, so it was very fun. It almost didn't happen though because I couldn't stand in my ski boots. UGH! Rick has had numerous boot problems this season and after buying new boots, he found every problem was fixed and he was once again able to ski. SO, he didn't want me to suffer on the slopes with bad boots, so we went to a boot shop and got me fixed for a very cute new pair of boots (Lange). We actually only skiied down Schoolmarm at Keystone, but thats okay--it was very very fun.

After skiing, we saw a very special Christmas thing going on in the Keystone village that we knew the kids would love, so we boogied home and got everyone (including Tiff and Tyler) and went back to the village.

The kids were THRILLED to see Santa standing outside in the snow, holding onto the reins of a REAL REINDEER!!!!!!! It was cupid and we were able to have our picture taken with both of them--I'll post it after we get back from our trip. It was fabulous! :)

Today, Rick and Tyler hiked half way up Mt. Quandry (14,000 ft). They had a great time, although it was very cold and windy. Tiff and I were going to take the kids sledding, but instead built snowmen on the hood of Rick's jeep at the trailhead. After doing this, the boys were too cold to go sledding, so we grabbed some happy meals and came home...well...happy! :)

Its wonderful being here at Christmas time. There are extra twinkle lights everywhere, Christmas music is being blasted at not only stores, but the ski resort too. I like that...its nice that its "okay" to play Christmas music.

Merry Merry Christmas everyone!

Super Angie...SEXY?

Today, while driving home from school, Dallin said, "Mom, Sami and Aynslea (both girls) are sexy!".

My jaw dropped.

Dallin is in first grade. How does he know what sexy is?

Still shocked, I asked, "Who told you they are sexy?"
"No one, I just know they are."
"Um...do you know what sexy means?"
"yes, but I forget."
"Well, what does it mean to you?" I questioned.
"Um, I don't know."
"Who taught you the word "sexy"? "

and here is the zinger...

"I learned it from you, Mama!"

WHAT?!?!?!

"huh?"
"well, I heard you say something about sexy books...or magazines. When you were on the phone talking to Gaga (grandma)." he said.

????
"Um, you mean FASHION MAGAZINES?"

"uh. yeah. I guess thats what you said." he answered.

LOL

Wow, what a fantastic mom I am.

Super Angie...collecting goods for Refugees**reminder**

I got an email from my mom's church branch back in Moscow, Russia. The youth from their church recently collected clothing and delivered it to a refugee camp about 100km north of Moscow, Russia--the camp has people from Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran. While they were there, they asked what other types of things the people need. They said Fabric and sewing things.

They are
trying to teach lifetime skills to their young people so they are continually in need of fabric or sewing material. They use the fabric to make clothes, bedding and anything else that they can. They also take some of these items to sell after they have made them which in turn helps them to support themselves while living at the camp.

If you would like to donate, it would be greatly appreciated.

DETAILS: My parents will be coming to the states twice to take donations home with them. (Its not safe to mail stuff to Russia.)

IN UTAH: donate to my house in Lehi by January 2nd, 2008 OR March 1st, 2008

IN WASHINGTON STATE:
Contact me privately and we can set up a drop off around these same dates.

Money can also be donated and then my mom or I will buy fabric to donate in your name. :)

ITEMS NEEDED/REQUESTED: light weight fabric (no wool or Corduroy), sewing and knitting needles, thread. My mom said, even small amounts of fabric that you have left over from a project can be helpful. **no Christmas fabrics.

We are so blessed to live in the United States and have so many things. Please contact me if you would like to help with this, or have further questions.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Super Angie...birthday blog candy winner

and the winner is.... WHITNEY! Congrats Whitney, you win a beautiful, sparkly necklace from Lia Sophia...enjoy! I picked Whitney, because she is just like me--she loves her birthday to be special. :)

My birthday started off rough, but it has turned out fantastic. My mom called and cheered me up. Then my dad called me and made me laugh. Next my brother Jeff called and we talked and talked. It was great. I have gotten some nice birthday emails from Laura, my dad and my mom and I just feel special. I was supposed to go out to lunch with my great friend Julie, but I canceled because I was feeling sorry for myself (lame huh?), but she understood and sent me lots of well wishes.

I am feeling so special today... thanks everyone!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Got a new chalk bag (pink flowers!), a white roxy watch, black socks with snow flakes on them, a christmas CD and a new coat! Its orange and its ARC'TERYX brand--so awesome!!!!
PPPPPPPS....We had a great family dinner and Tanith screamed in the car--but this has been one of my best birthdays ever...even with the screaming! :) AND My neice and nephew each called me to wish me a Happy Birthday! Yea! AND, while driving, we ran into my friend Cathy, and she handed me my birthday gift out her window--we stopped traffic--totally funny-- Thanks for the Scentsy burner and bar. :)
PPPPPPPPS.... Whitney was a doll and came and watched the kids so Rick and I could hang at Starbucks, enjoy some hot chocolate (peppermint!) and gaze lovingly into each other's eyes. Then when we came home (to a tidy house!!), Whit gave me a pair of darling earrings and some yummy chapstick. THANKS! I also got a voice mail from my friend Amy who sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY to me.

This morning, I was thinking this was going to be the worst birthday ever. BUT I have counted every blessing so to speak and realize there are more people who care for me then I had thought, and that feels good. Thanks to everyone who played a part in making my birthday special. It all means a lot! :)

Super Angie...crazy shoppers

Okay, serious question....

Do these Christmas shoppers that are out on the roads, in parking lots, at resturants, in Costco and filling up the malls and stores...have they really never gone shopping before? Why are they all so crazy? They drive like they have never seen traffic before. They speed to get a parking spot, when in reality, there are 50 spots all around them. They wave their hands in the air and shout things at you as you drive past them. In the stores, they suddenly forget simple rules, like walk on the right side, stand patiently in line, don't shove. In Costco, its like they have never eaten before in their life. Suddenly the small samples are a buffet and they swarm the poor ladies. They park their carts and hog a whole isle so they can get the next batch of popcorn chicken the lady is cooking. Forget about the fact that there are actually people who want to buy the things that are being sampled--no, these people have to create an all you can eat buffet. I am surprised they don't bring in a TO-GO box to take samples with them. People that have never developed film in their whole life, show up at the photo center and can't figure anything out--can't even figure out how to stand in line to ask for help! And if they see you reaching for something they had their eye on...oh my gosh! Watch out! (forget the fact that there is a pile of the same item, so its not like its the last one!)

PURE MADNESS!!!

Ho ho ho...Merry Christmas everyone! (btw...the sleighride picture has NOTHING to do with this post...just thought it was festive!)

Super Angie...TOYS FOR TOTS

Today I took Dallin out of school early and headed up to Murray, UT, to an Albertson's grocery store that was participating in TOYS FOR TOTS with the ladies from Good Things Utah.

The boys were excited and fully understood the reason we were going--to buy toys for kids who don't have any.

We arrived and saw an Army truck parked out front that was loaded up with toys. Very cool!! As we walked inside, right away we saw Nicea and Mike from Good Things Utah. The kids recognized them and we had fun chatting (about fashion, China, Christmas shopping etc). Nicea fell in love with Tanith (can you blame her?). There were also a bunch of Marines there helping. Very very cool!!! Tanith enjoyed eating a cookie and Brennan got his coat pockets stuffed with chocolates from Nicea.

Dallin and Brennan immediately found where all the toys were stacked up for sale and started loading up the cart. They had a $200 total limit and we actually did really well--$215 for our grand total. They picked monster trucks that make music, pirate ships, race cars, tea sets, barbie dolls, hot wheel cars, checkers, lizards, baby toys, build a bear toys and many others. They just had so much fun picking stuff out.

After we paid, we went back to where Nicea and Mike were and found that Angie had now shown up. She recognized us, which was fun (we have met her a few times at Good Things Utah events and occasionally I email with her). Then she surprised us...she wanted to film the boys loading up the army truck with the toys!!! So, we went outside with a film crew. The Marines helped the boys up into the truck and then we started handing them toys from the cart. They had soooo much fun stacking the toys in the truck and getting so much attention. Then Angie interviewed them for the news tonight! They did soooo well in their little interview--they were thoughtful about their answers and knew exactly why they needed to give these toys away. I am so proud of them! I knew Dallin would understand, but Brennan really surprised me with his interview.

THEN Angie interviewed ME! OH MY GOSH! Totally funny.

Anyway, it was a great, heart warming time and I am glad we went. Well worth taking Dallin out of school for this. I am sure they won't forget this anytime soon!

Super Angie...Birthday Blog Candy

Spread the word...
I am doing a Birthday Blog Candy.

I got the idea from my Super friend Tara. Here's what it is:
I ask a question on my blog. You answer. On my birthday (in one week...Dec 18th), I will pick a winner and they get a suprise from me. The prize is gonna be a fun one! :)

So here is my question:

Whats your favorite thing to do on your birthday?

My answer: Ice Skate! I love taking friends skating. And since my birthday is in December, a lot of people find it to be a Christmas tradition, so I don't have to beg too much...especially if there is Hot Chocolate involved! hee hee

GOOD LUCK BLOGGERS!

Super Angie...Christmas foods and traditions...

As Christmas is approaching, it got me started thinking about eating yummy Christmas food. This year, we are spending Christmas in Keystone and we are taking Tiff and Tyler with for the first few days of our trip. YEA! So fun. Can't wait! I plan on making Kase Spetzle while they are there with us and honestly, there will probably be left overs since I make a large batch, so thats what we will eat on Christmas eve. I know no one in my family will complain!

Waibel Traditions: Growing up, we would travel to Sacramento--Christmas eve with Aunt Ursula and Uncle Frank (my dad's sister). Christmas morning with my grandpa and grandma (my mom's parents). Christmas day with Uncle Ed (my mom's brother) and then down to my Oma's house for a few days. I loved all these traditions, and I am honestly sad that we no longer do these things...people have died, moved, or grown apart. Cousins are all now older, with families of their own. I do remember fondly though, sitting on Aunt Ursula's couch with my cousins, hanging spoons from our noses. :) Oma's house was always fun...a closet filled with special toys and puzzels for us kids to play with. Plates of Lebkuchen were always a favorite (German cookies). Interesting paintings and posters from Germany. Music boxes on display. There were also music boxes at my Grandma's house too. And gum in the end kitchen drawer. Swinging on the swing set out back and riding on the giant Tricycle. Of course, the big wooden swing was a favorite on the front porch.

This year we are sure to make new traditions as we spend the first of many Christmases in Keystone. We have decided to decorate our tree there with cookies...so I know that will be something we will do the first few days we are there.

So, as Christmas approaches...tell me about some of your traditions...or favorite memories.

Super Angie...winter wonderland sickness

Well, its beautiful outside, but inside my chest hurts. We got so much snow..l love how it looks outside with Christmas lights and fresh snow. But oh man...this crud I have is horrible. It settled in my chest and gives me the type of cough that roughs up your throat and makes your ears hurt each time you cough. Today has really been the worse, but tonight, I feel like I may be over the worst of it.

Thanks Rick for taking good care of me. I love you!

Tanith riding Twinkle Toes...she doesn't like him!
The kids sure enjoyed Twinkle Toes though
Dallin with Bubbles
Bubbles is wrapped around his leg!!
Josh with Peaches
Dallin's Favorite Snake...PEACHES!!!
Issac with Slice
Dallin with Squish, Slice and Peaches
The kids having fun holding squish!
Julie and Josh with Sausage
Eli with Slice
Me with Squish
Ryann with Peaches
Sami with Sausage
Me with Bubbles the snake

So, yesterday was the much anticipated 7th Birthday Party for Dallin. We hired our rock climbing friend Shane (from Utah Scales and Tails) to come do a reptile show. I swore up and down that I would never be one of those parents that hires ponies and clowns and big blow up jumpy thingys for a birthday party, but since we know Shane, he gave us a great price. He actually couldn't attend last minute, so his two assistants came instead, and because of this mix up, he gave us the show for free. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DALLIN!

Dallin invited a bunch of friends and thankfully, a bunch of their mom's decided to stay and help. It was fun to have Terece, Summer and Julie there--plus their kids.

Rick filmed the whole thing, which will be fun to watch or show to Grandma later.

Dallin got to help a lot with the show, and I even got in on the action, with two big snakes--I was actually quite scared!

It was a great party full of fun animals, great friends and lots of laughter!

Super Angie...Super Rick

My husband is so amazing. He runs his own businesses, runs our family, stays healthy, keeps up with news and current events, reads, listens to books on tape, plays with the kids, gives me a break, encourages me to try new things and work out and get healthy...he does so much.

Ever since Rick and I met, we both knew there was this magic between us. We, infact, call it magic. We know we are meant to be together, and although we fight and have our differences, I know its true--we are meant for each other.

Hes my best friend and I know I'm his.

Thanks Rick for brightening up my life and opening my eyes to so many things.

I love you....
