Super Angie...Bach is Back

What a difference some altitude makes. I got to Vegas last night and showed up this morning to skate. WHOA! Freaking awesome. Felt sooo great! I was able to do 4 mostly clean / clean run throughs of BACH and Apologize. I was able to spin without getting dizzy. Everything just felt good. And I was FAST!!! It felt really really great to be "back to form" so to speak. I'm really excited to be here for the next several weeks. Have my first lesson tomorrow. Yea!

PPPS...I pushed through some fear issues and just freaking did my lutz. Go away Fear. You are NOT allowed here!

Super Angie...thinking Bach

My dramatic program APOLOGIZE is fun. I love it. I feel it. I can do it and do it well. Dare I say, I've trained it enough that its "easy" now. It most certainly is NOT an easy program. It took SOOO long for me to get it right, but now, I'm so comfortable with it. I just love this program.

My Character program BAD ROMANCE is also fun. Its a blast to rock out. I've changed it up and made it harder, but its not so hard that I can't have fun during it. I'm happy with it. I'm skating it less frantic, which feels good. But its still a fun program and I think the audience likes it.

My freeskate is BACH. I choreographed this program originally myself, and since, Vassili has helped define it, and make it more pleasing and more complete. Oh yeah, and HARDER!!! I'm having doubts about Bach mainly because I have been so sick this month, and the altitude has been wearing me down. I have two weeks until I compete and I can't wait to get back to Vegas- to lower altitude, so I can really train this program.

I love my BACH program. The emotions in it. The story I tell. The story I live while skating it. The story I share. I love the music. I love my dress. I love the choreography. I love smiling while skating it and feeling the pure joy of skating.

I want to skate this program in St. Louis and do the very best I ever have.

I'm nervous about some of the elements and I don't know what to do or think...

Super Angie... it doesn't matter

While watching the men's short program this week at US NATIONALS, I'm pondering this quote from the young skater, Keegan Messing: "It doesn't matter, I just had fun!"

I love skating. And love having fun with my programs!

Super Angie...brave or stupid?

More crafts! Now Tanith is making designs on paper with glue and then sprinkling glitter over them. Turning out really nice. BUT there is a whole lot of red glitter in the kitchen now. I'm not looking forward to cleaning this up!

Am I brave? Or stupid?

Super Angie... craft day

We spent the day crafting. So much fun. Tanith got this beading set for Christmas, and it was just perfect for her tiny hands. She concentrated so hard. We had fun sitting together, working on them. Then we mailed some to the boys in Singapore and to Gaga and Pop.

Great day of crafts and movies and hugs and kisses!

Super Angie...Tan and Brigitte.

While in Vegas, Tanith also took a group lesson and a private with Brigitte. She had so much fun and learned a ton. Now back in Colorado, she is constantly correcting me "Thats not how Brigitte does it!"

Super Angie...taking the bus

It was another beautiful blue bird Keystone day, so Tanith and I hopped on the Keystone Bus and road over to Mountain House. Its so fun skiing with my daughter. I love being a mom.

Tan was VERY excited to ride the bus--her first time. We got to sit right in the front. She enjoyed seeing the neighborhood from a different view.

She also liked using her new pink ski goggles (not in this pic). "The snow is PINK!" she proclaimed.

She took one fall--the awful type where snow goes right down your pants. She didn't really enjoy that--who would! But besides that, she had a fabulous time skiing.

Super Angie...Its official!

I have officially decided to compete again this summer at the 2011 TEVA MOUNTAIN GAMES in Vail. I competed two summers ago in Bouldering and took 3rd place. I have no expectations and can't wait to start training. Yea!!!!

Super Angie...glitter fun

Today I helped Tanith make Valentine cards for different family members. She had a lot of fun sprinkling the glitter on the cards and then did a great job writing everyone's names.

Super Angie...Lady Gaga Makeup

.

For my BAD ROMANCE program next month in St. Louis, I have a new costume and new makeup. I think it turned out really good for my first try. Tanith just HAD to have her eyes done too. I didn't want to risk getting makeup in her eyes, so I did a rushed up and didn't get all the tiny spots. She loves it though!

Super Angie...blessed in Vegas

I'm so thankful to have the group of friends I do in Vegas. So many warm, wonderful caring faces during Coffee Club (adult skating time daily). Young skaters. Older skaters. Mothers of skaters. Coaches. Administration at the rink. Everyone is so sweet and so welcoming.

I am truly blessed.

Super Angie...Hiking in Red Rock canyon

On Saturday, instead of rock climbing, Rick went for a run through Red Rock Canyon while Tanith and I went for a little hike. Then after his run, the three of us went for a longer hike to a waterfall. It was a gorgeous day for hiking and we were all pleased to find so much ice...just a few minutes outside of Vegas. Amazing!

Super Angie...Tanith and Jessica

During a very public session, Jessica gave Tanith a lesson. At first Tan was very moody and not too happy about being there, but then she warmed right up. When they turned off the lights and turned on the disco lights, she went nuts. This kid is fearless and fast! She was so funny--ducking under the walkers.

Thanks Jess!
