We are reading Alice in Wonderland, and when Alice ran into Humpty Dumpty, we decided to make our own out of playdough. What a fun activity we all had!
I love integrating special activities that tie into what the kids are learning. Eric, Jared and Michelle went to a school here where the entire curriculum is built that way, with lots of field trips or activities that tie into the main curriculum. When they studied Roman history, the kids built a qorking aqueduct our of PVC gutters, duct tape and wood. When they studied Medieval history, they took fencing lessons, and wrote manuscripts by candle light using ink they made themselves and feather quills. During their age of explorers, they went sailing on a ship that was inspiration for the pirates of the Caribbean vessels. I love the school they go to because everything is integrated like that. Keep up the good work Angie! These fun activities reinforce what they have learned and are things they will remember the most fondly from their schooling.
I am Super Angie...a regular mom, who is sure her neighbors can all hear her scream at her kids. A regular mom who is trying to keep her house tidy, but often gives up to go update her status on Facebook. A regular mom who loves ROCK CLIMBING, ICE CLIMBING, FIGURE and SPEED SKATING and TRAVELING. A regular mom who adores her SUPER husband, her Super son Dallin, Super son Brennan and Super daughter Tanith. I am Super Angie and I believe in finding the SUPER moments in the everyday small and simple things we do.

what a fun activity, I agree with Laurance, intermixing learning about a book or subject by using crafts works. :)
