Super Angie..>Tanith's First Birthday!!

Last night we had Tanith's first birthday party. The theme was Hello Kitty. Rick and I made the cake and I think it turned out great. :)

The guest list was great: Paul, Trish, Andy, Ty and Kaylee; Cyndy, Erin and Kim; Whitney and Kyle; Tiffany (sans Tyler who had food poisoning. GET WELL TYLER!); and Dallin, Brennan, Rick and I.

Tan was completely overwhelmed at first and did quite a bit of crying. But once the cake came and she realized that frosting tastes good, she got happy. THEN the gifts started coming and she was THRILLED!!

Andy and Kaylee gave her some stuffed animals they won at one of those games you use the crane to reach in and grab a toy--they are so talented that they win almost every time!!

Cyndy and Family gave Tan a "play" IPOD and some brown Ugg boots. She is sooo stylin now. She would NOT put down the IPOD!!

Whitney gave her a "My Little Pony" to which Dallin explained, "THANK YOU WHITNEY" (knowing full well he would get to play with it more then Tan). She also gave a book and a toy car (again, the boys were excited!!).

Paul and family gave a stuffed dog toy from Leap Frog that does the ABCs and Nursery Rhymes etc when you touch the feet etc. Very cute and fun. Rick especially had fun hitting every button at the same time!

We gave Tanith some hair bows, Hello Kitty jewelry (from the dollar section at Target!), a new outfit and a rolling snail toy.

Tanith had a lot of people around her who loved her and were happy to help her celebrate. It was a great evening!!!

Super Angie...German food explained!

Okay, so Spetzle is egg noodles--eggs, flour, milk and water, kneaded together to make a sticky dough. Some people will roll it out flat and cut it into long thin noodles, but I personally have a small press that I put it through. You drop the noodles into boiling water and when they float, they are done. I layer my spetzle with onions and gouda cheese, then bake at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes---until the cheese starts to burn. LECKER!

Guten Appetite!

Super Angie...Happy Thanksgiving!

Mark picked up the boys at 9am. They were all so excited to be together. I know this will sound strange, but I am thankful for the way I was raised. Some ex-wifes can be such jerks towards their ex-spouse--not letting them see the kids etc. But I firmly beleive that the things my parents taught me growing up helps me to have the integrity I need to do whats right. Mark really did look happy to see the boys this morning and I'm honestly very happy.

I spent the day with Tanith...decorating for Christmas! Its been so much fun. I also did some major cleaning and de-cluttering. The house looks fantastic! (or I should say, the first FLOOR looks good. Maybe later I'll work on the upstairs!)

Instead of Turkey, we are having Kase Spetzle. Seriously, whats better then a German Thanksgiving?

Super Angie...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TANITH!

Today, my darling, sweet, little, girl is ONE years old. YEA!!!

Tanith is such a joy to our family. She is calm (most of the time). She is very sweet, full of hugs and loves, ready to give a smile.... We all love having Tan in our family.

I love having Tan as my daughter. We are already fast friends. She can bring a smile to my face so easily. I really needed a special baby at this stage of my life and Tanith is the one. When one of the boys is

driving me nuts, Tanith is there to remind me of all the good.

Brennan enjoyes having Tan as his sister

because: "She is cute"

Dallin enjoys having Tan as his sister because: "She is sweet and cute"
And then he said, "She is my favoritest friend" to which Brennan said, "Yeah!"

Rick's not home right now, so he'll have to add his reason later.

BUT...HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TANITH DEAR!

We love you!!!!

Super Angie...Happy Thanksgiving Tuesday

We are home now from Keystone. Ah, it was a great trip. Our drive home was actually really good. :)

I got an email from Dave and Joan whom I met on my China trip, so I went back through my blog and re-read my entries. Great memories. But one thing I found was something I want to re-post since its Thanksgiving Time....

"How blessed and lucky I have been in my life. I have traveled to 5 continents in my short 31 yrs. (haven't been to South America or Antartica). I have met incredible people and shared my journeys with many loved ones and friends. I am thankful and just dang lucky that my dad's job has taken him to Germany, Australia and now Russia, so I have a reason to visit those places and a place to stay when I go. While my parents lived in Germany, my mom and I had so much fun traveling around Europe. I love hearing about places my dad has been too...he really has opened my eyes to the world. I love learning about my heritage and then going to those places (haven't been to England yet though). I've been lucky to get cheap flights that have allowed me to go places like Tokyo. I am thrilled that my husband and children share a love of traveling--whether its a 10 hour plane ride, or an hour car ride around town, we love traveling together and exploring. I love traveling, plain and simple. I love talking about traveling, reading travel books and watching travel shows. Its in my blood, just like scrapbooking or baking might be passions for others--traveling is my thing.

Lastly, I want to thank The Lord for blessing me with so many things. I don't take my traveling for granted, but realize its a gift from Him. I am thankful that I was born and raised in the USA. I am thankful for my freedoms--especially religious freedoms. I have so many things in my life that so much of the world could only dream about having. I am blessed so much."

I know that God loves me. I know he knows my heart. I am so thankful that my savior died for me so I could ask forgivness of my sins. I know that I can be washed clean from those sins. I love Christ.

Super Angie...Happy Thanksgiving..Monday

Today we are celebrating Thanksgiving. The Turkey is in the oven, the pumpkin pie (store bought) is in the fridge and the outlet shopping has been done! lol

This morning, Rick took off to go climb (see his blog) and the kids and I walked to Lake Keystone to feed the fish. Everyone had a great time. The weather was perfect--well, perfect for this type of activity, but not perfect for a ski resort that wants to have more runs open in time for Thanksgiving! Anyway, after the fish and quick purchase for Tyler, Andy and Kaylee at the gift store, we went to the playground. Tan really enjoyed swinging in the babyswing and hitting Dallin with her feet when he stood infront of her. She also thought it was quite funny to see Mommy swinging next to her. The boys had fun swinging, sliding and running around.

After lunch and decorating gingerbread cookies (store bought kit), we headed out to Antlers. Antlers is our favorite store in probably all of Summit county. Its located in Frisco, so maybe 10 minutes away. Antlers always carries the best brands for outdoor activities--so of course right now its full of Marmot, NILS, Salomon, Spyder, Northface, Burton, Roxy and Obermeyer. Talk about cute stuff. They also have the best selection of UGG boots I have ever seen. Rick and I tried on lots of coats (but realized we can get them cheaper online! lol) and the boys tried on lots of hats. Brennan LOVES to try on girly snow hats. He so badly wants me to buy him every single pink flowered hat he sees (like the one pictured above from REI). I do admit they look darling on him, but I won't buy him one. Sorry.

Dallin on the other hand has this thing for CROCS. He just loves them and he found a pair of turquise ones at Antlers and since they fit, and since he was good, we bought them for him.

Then it was on to the outlet stores. I ran into CARTERS to buy some size 12 month onesies. Poor Tan is all out, so I picked her up some adorable pink and brown ones. I also got Dallin some new pants (since the ones we brought here are all FLOOD PANTS) and then I got Tan some cute stuff. CUTE STUFF!!!!

Then Rick wanted to go into a sweet sports store called PURE, so I took the kids to play on some rocks. Then it was time to go to Target to get an extension cord for my garland on the balcony, plus swim diapers for Tan and a few other goodies like Hello Kitty plates and napkins for Tan's birthday party.

Now we are home. Rick has taken the kids swimming. I am trying to ignore Tan's crying. She needs a NAP! In a bit we will enjoy our early Thanksgiving Feast, make some Thanksgiving Crafts and enjoy the sounds and sites of a crackling fire.

TEN THINGS I'M THANKFUL FOR (in no particular order):
1. The Gospel of Jesus Christ and my membership in his church
2. Family and Friends and loved ones..
3. Being an American--having so many freedoms. I realized how grateful I am for Religious freedom when I went to church in China.
4. Snow and Winter and Ice...these things just make me soooo happy
5. Having a getaway in Keystone...this place just brings me peace and gets me away from stress and rush rush rush.
6. All the travel opportunities I have had in my short life thus far. I am well aware of how lucky and blessed I have been to have gone so many places. I hope I can continue to travel for it truely brings me joy to see new places and meet new people. (pictured: Freiberg, East Germany temple...went there in the late 90s)
7. Service. I love how I feel when I do service.
8. Rock Climbing...it brings Rick and I together and its great for our kids too.
9. Babysitters!!! So thankful for Whitney and Tiff.
10. Twinkle lights, Christmas trees and decorations and Christmas music--all things Christmas!

What are 3 things YOU are thankful for?
